AC Milan and Atalanta of Serie A are allegedly interested in signing Liverpool's Divock Origi and could make a bid in January. Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino have kept the Belgian forward out of the Liverpool first team. Jurgen Klopp has attempted to get him some game time in recent matches, but he is unable to make any guarantees.

Liverpool made some changes for their matchday-six match against AC Milan, despite having already qualified for the UEFA Champions League last-16. Divock Origi scored the game's winning goal in the 55th minute for the Reds. Origi also scored in his last Premier League outing, scoring the game-winning goal in Liverpool's victory over Wolves. According to Tuttomercato, AC Milan was impressed by Origi's performance against them on Matchday 6 and wants to bring him to San Siro. They are looking for a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and believe that Liverpool's Mohamed Salah could be a good fit.

Atalanta, a Serie A powerhouse, is also thought to be keeping a close eye on the Belgium international's actions. Their main man, Luis Muriel, is rumoured to be pondering a change of scenery, which would allow Origi to join them. Origi might also benefit from Atalanta's free-flowing system, allowing him to put his Liverpool experience to good use. Neither Italian team, however, is willing to satisfy Origi's wage demands. The 26-year-old is said to be seeking a €4 million contract, which is a little too much for the clubs. The contract of Origi is slated to end in June 2022.

Liverpool, led by Jurgen Klopp, have become the first English team to win all six Champions League group-stage matches. To continue their unbeaten run, they must defeat Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League last-16.

Liverpool and Inter Milan have both been in fantastic form recently, winning 25 points in their past ten games across all competitions. Despite the fact that Liverpool will start as favourites because to their individual quality and Champions League heritage, the game will not be easy. On the 16th of February, the opening leg of the tantalising round-of-16 tie will take place in Milan.
